With support from the Interdisciplinary Environmental Clinic at Washington University School of Law,  the following coalition of civil rights, neighborhood development, and environmental organizations are working to assess and document the key environmental justice issues in the City of St. Louis and develop recommendations to remedy them.

ArchCity Defenders is a nonprofit civil rights law firm providing holistic legal advocacy and combating the criminalization of poverty and state violence against poor people and people of color. It provides direct representation, engages in systemic civil rights litigation, performs media and policy advocacy, and is active in community coalitions.

Dutchtown South Community Corporation is advancing neighborhood vitality through community empowerment, housing stabilization, and real estate development. It is a place-based non-profit organization dedicated to the vibrant South St. Louis neighborhoods of Dutchtown, Mt. Pleasant, Marine Villa, and Gravois Park.

Action St. Louis is a grassroots racial justice organization working to build political power for Black communities in St. Louis. Founded by activists in 2014 during the Ferguson uprising, it builds campaigns that leverages organizing, communications, advocacy and direct action to mitigate harm against Black communities while fighting for long term transformation.

Sierra Club is America’s largest and most influential grassroots environmental organization, with more than 3.5 million members and supporters. In addition to protecting every person’s right to get outdoors and access the healing power of nature, the Sierra Club works to promote clean energy, safeguard the health of our communities, protect wildlife, and preserve our remaining wild places through grassroots activism, public education, lobbying, and legal action.
